Favorite Movie!

The promotional poster for the movie.
Most of us have a favorite film that we could watch a million times & never get bored of it, the one we recommend to all our friends and sometimes even our acquaintances! Well, that movie for me would be The Way He Looks. Also, slight spoilers ahead. (In case you don't know what a spoiler is, it's when you learn things about a movie or book before you view it, & it ends up 'spoiling' the events of the story. It's like if someone told you that a character is going to die in a book you're reading.)
The Way He Looks is a 2014 Brazilian romantic drama directed by Daniel Ribeiro. The movie follows the character, Leo, a blind teenager who feels frustrated with being overprotected by those around him. Whether it's his mother refusing to let him do anything alone, or his best friend, Giovana, not allowing him to stand up for himself. He wishes to have a more independent life, despite the struggles he faces due to his blindness; He even contemplates entering an exchange program, in hopes of a fresh start. Leo also desires a first kiss, but he believes that no one would ever consider dating the blind kid.
Leo's world takes a turn when the new student, Gabriel, arrives in school. Gabriel, Leo, & Giovana become fast friends, however Gabriel clearly takes a preference in Leo (This causes some jealously & some drama later on). Leo & Gabriel become really close friends, but Leo starts to feel very strong feelings for Gabriel.
A scene from the movie.
Overall, I'd say this is a fantastic movie, and I dare say that it is my favorite. I think you'd like The Way He Looks if you like those coming-of-age movies or romance/drama movies. In conclusion, I find The Way He Looks to be a hidden gem, & I hope that you all check it out!

Until Next Time!   ~Logan

My Favorite Music

Music is a very important thing to me, and has helped me grow to be the person I am today. It has gotten me up and dancing in good times, and acts as a consoling friend in bad times.
I don't necessarily have a favorite type of music I listen to, though I usually listen to pop and alternative music. Most of the music I listen to isn't much of the popular stuff, but I do listen to some bigger artists like Adele and Alicia Keys.

One of my favorite television shows is The Voice, a singing competition/reality show. I love to listen to the contestant's music, and though watching, I've found some of my favorite artists. Above is a cover of "Love Is Blindness" sung by the phenomenal Madi Davis. She does mostly cover music, however she has some original music as well.

Another artist I discovered from The Voice is Melanie Martinez, and she makes alternative electropop music. Her first album, Cry Baby, was released last summer, and I've been listening non-stop! Above I've linked a clean version of her song, Cry Baby. Her music is different and unique, so sorry if you aren't fond of it.

My final artist I'll share about is one of my favorites, Sam Smith. (He wasn't on The Voice.) He's sings soulful pop music, and many have called him "the male Adele." I discovered him a couple of years ago when he popped up on the radio, and I immediately fell in love with his voice! Above I linked his song, "Writings on the Wall," and I believe he won an award for that.

What kind of music do you guys like to listen to?

About Me!

Hey there! My name is Logan and this is my blog!

Some things about about me!
I love to create things, whether it be writing, drawing, or in this case, blogging, and cooking (even though that usually ends very, VERY badly). When I'm not making a mess of the kitchen, I absolutely love playing video games, and it's my favorite thing to do. My preference of video games are ones with well-written stories and eye-catching graphics, my personal favorite series being Fire Emblem.

Here in Humboldt, we live pretty close to the ocean, which you would think nice, hot weather, but it's actually more freezing cold and foggy. Originally though, I was born in West Virginia, which is on the opposite coast of the United States.

But that's the "interesting" things about me. If anyone enjoys playing video games (especially Fire Emblem) let me know, and we can chat about them!
